What is Homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a safe, natural form of medicine which stimulates the person's own system to heal itself. It is a holistic form of treatment which works on an energetic level and can be used alone or alongside conventional medicine, where appropriate.
Homeopathy is based on the principal of 'like curing like'. The idea of using a substance capable of producing symptoms in a healthy person, to cure those same symptoms in illness was developed by Samuel Hahnemann in the 18th Century. He discovered a method of using very small amounts of a substance to produce a powerful healing effect, without the side effects of conventional medicines.
Can Homeopathy help you?
Homeopathy is a gentle, deep acting form of medicine which can be helpful for almost any health problems. It helps to strengthen the immune system, so is very valuable in treating common ailments. It is also effective in the treatment of more ongoing, chronic and recurrent problems.
Homeopathy has been shown to be effective in treating:
- Common ailments: coughs, colds, 'flu, earache, tonsilitis, stomach upsets;
- Ongoing or recurrent problems: migraines, IBS, asthma, hayfever, ME, anxiety or panic attacks;
- Female health: period pain or hormonal problems, fertility problems, pregnancy and post natal care, problems in menopause;
- Childhood illneses.
Since homeopathy treats the whole person, it can be effectively used for emotionally based problems such as, anxiety and stress, mood swings, depression, and grief following a loss or separation.
